I know we have a few sets of threading toys at home, but I still have to constantly think of new activities for them. Something new and that they get excited about. The thought of stringing macaronis to make necklace, bracelets and crown pops up in my mind. We have actually seen it on one of the Barney’s show.
All you need is assorted macaronis and tubular pasta, including the cart wheel pasta. If you can find those colorful ones , it will be more fun. Besides that you need yarn. To make the yarn end stiff and easy to slot the pastas in, just tap it with cellophane tape to make it stiff.
It didn’t even cost me a cent to make my kids happy.

I won’t call this a game, but it’s an activity that you could do with your newborn from 0 - 3 months.
The baby chatter is an activity that you can do with your newborn where it will help encourage later talking and communicating, listening, seeing, becoming friendly, forming relationships, reading our moods , handling emotions and imitation.
You probably need only spent 15 minutes a day with your newborn on this activity.
Name Game
Cradle your baby in your arms with your fact 20 -25 cm from hers. Say her name over and over until you attract her attention. Then say “What a good girl” several tiems with warmth and pleasure in your voice.
Eye to Eye
Cradle your baby with your face 20 -25 cm from hers. Look into her eyes and hold her attention by talking, smiling and bobbing your head gently. She’ll start “mouthing” and pushing out her tongue to try imitates your facial movements and trying to answer you. As soon as you see this response, encourage her enthusiastically and pause for a second to give her the two way rhythm of conversation.
Making faces
Cradle your baby and start acting emotions with appropriate facial expressions and explanations. Keep up a running commentary emotions your face is expressing.

Parents are very willing to spent now. There’s really a huge market on baby products. Take for example toys itself, parents are often spoil with choice.
The fact is, baby does not need many toys in the early months. Other than a purposeful made mobile, a few rattles and a stuffed animal. There’s no need to buy expensive battery-operated toys, especially for children under the age of three. We should avoid toy that simply does something while the child watches. An ideal toy should be beautifully made that the child can stack, assemble or interact with one way or another. We want to encourage the child to be actively engaged , not a passive observer waiting to be entertained.
For the first few months, a mobile over the child-bed helps to develop the baby’s abilities to explore the world visually. Again, we are not talking about battery operated mobiles, with all the noise and light, it can actually over stimulate the child. It’s just a simple home made mobile that we can changed every two weeks or so.
The first mobile portrays flat, black and white geometric shapes and reflected light from a glass sphere. Subsequently ones are introduced in ordered sequence : 3 octahedron of colored metallic paper, five Styrofoam balls covered with embroidery thread in gradations of the same color and hung in ascending order from darkest to lightest etc
Mobiles are primarily useful to the infant only in the first few months. In the initial weeks, mobiles help develop an infant visual capacities for focus and tracking. After this period, the mobile is hung at the height within the range of the infant’s random movements to encourage the infant to make contact with the mobile on purpose. Eventually the mobile will make the infant discovered the different capacities of her hands.

Play is crucial for a child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. It’s the child’s way of learning about his body and the world, and he’ll use all five senses to do it, especially in the first year.
Play can be interpreted in many different ways. When used to refer to an adult activity, it usually means taking part in a game requiring physical or mental skills. When it is used to refer to a child’s activity, however , it is usually taken to mean something that has no serious point to it. Many parents start to think that their child is wasting time playing all day long and force their very young child to sit down, learning from flash cards and doing other academic activities that they though the child might gain more. That is one misconception.
To a child, play is an enjoyable, voluntary , purposeful and spontaneously chosen activity. It is often creative, involved problem solving, learning new social skills , new language and new physical skills.
You need not need expensive toys for your child. There are many games that can be played using home-made equipment which will be shared here.
